Unfortunately, there's a really... difficult person there. I don't understand why she has a stick up her butthole, but it's ridiculous. I'll be talking to a patient or another person there and I might laugh or something (which is normal because that's what you have to do when you carry out conversations) and she'll walk by, pull me aside and put her finger to her lips. Well, what am I supposed to do? Not respond? How the heck do you talk to someone and not laugh? If you do that people are going to think you're unfriendly. I really don't understand. The only time I CAN be a normal person is when I'm with the doctor. Why? Because she won't undermine him. He's really nice. He told me that I could stand directly behind him if I wanted to watch a procedure (very very rare, doctors never let you get near them), so I did. Guess what? The lady shows up and pulls me aside.
Lady: "Don't stand there. You'll get in the way. Who told you to stand there? The doctor?"
Me: *nod
Lady: "Oh.. okay... well..." *walks away
That was satisfying. I'm sure she's just trying to be professional and whatnot, but it doesn't have to get to this point. It's not that she's mean or that she's a bad person, it's just that... she sees me as some idiot or essentially some "lesser being." It's hard to get any respect unless you've graduated from professional school already. Either that or you have to be a patient, but then they're only nice to you because they want your money (sad, but true). It's pretty hard to find doctors that don't have money signs in their eyes these days, so if you find one that genuinely cares, you should stick with them.
I have been given a homework assignment. This has never happened before, but I kind of like this sort of stuff. He wants me to calculate anesthetic percentages and cost-benefit, production-profitability analysis. He said that he was too lazy to do it. Very honest. I like that. He also gave me a four unit course to take online. Things are getting interesting.
This post has gotten longer than I intended, but I have one more thing I have to say. I give up on calling people/keeping in touch with people. I literally have no time as it is, so I'm going to choose not to be in contact with anyone unless they initiate it. Of course, if you're my friend and you ask me if I want to hang out I'll always make time; however, if you don't want to hang out/talk to me I assume you won't call me/message me which is perfectly fine because maybe you want to allocate your time more efficiently and would rather rake leaves.
