Stupid kids

Okay, I have a large bone to pick. I don't know if I posted on this topic before, but this is seriously getting out of hand. To the point in which I'm so disgusted that I want to slap these children. Once again I'm talking in circles, so let me start at the beginning.

Today I went out to buy some groceries and I saw some kid on her iPhone texting away. She looked like she was around middle school age or so (maybe a tiny high schooler; who knows, Freshmen are small). The moment I saw this I became disgusted. What on Earth is a middle schooler doing with an iPhone? Is that really necessary? Don't get me wrong, it's not the iPhone that's the problem here. I love my phone. It has saved my life a countless number of times. Finals room numbers, course registration, etc. I never have to bring my laptop to cafes when I study anymore because I can look up processes or questions from my phone. I can also deposit checks at 3:00am at night, so that I won't get jumped while trying to do that at the bank. It's great! But, when was the last time a middle schooler had to pay bills? When was the last time you saw a middle schooler studying at a cafe? I'm nearly 95% certain that that child was texting her friend about some useless crush. Do you really need an iPhone for that? If it were up to me kids would be banned from smartphones until they're in college. What a waste of life (and a $30/month data plan).

Children these days are so spoiled. The most ridiculous thing is that they don't even know when they're spoiled. They keep wanting more and more and more. Why their parents keep giving is beyond me. Call me old fashioned, but I've worked for every bleeping thing I have. I'm not rich. Money doesn't fall from the sky. Very rarely do things get handed to me (unless it's garbage -_-) and it upsets me to know that there are people who have never worked a day in their lives and are still unappreciative. I'm not saying that we need to round up all of the kids and throw them into sweatshops (...though that would teach them a lesson or two), but I am saying that parents should guide their children and show them the fundamental principals of work and reward. Having everything handed to them on a silver platter isn't helping anyone. Really, I worry for our future. Maybe I should retire in another country.

I apologize for the rant, but it had to be done. This is seriously getting out of hand. I'm so disgusted. Next time I see a minor with a smartphone I'm going to pull out a bazooka.

While we're on iPhones, I saw a really cute case the other day. Let me try to find it... AHA. It's so cute!! Too bad I don't have a boyfriend with an iPhone or I would make him use the guy one... though it might be too "gay"... I don't think any guy I know would use that case. Also, I don't think I would date a guy with an iPhone to begin with. Break free of the monopoly! Go HTC! (I'm such a hypocrite lol)
